ReplyDeleteWhen I was in the 7th grade, they had made plans for all the students to come to school dressed up for Halloween.
As it got closer to that date when we could dress up, I got sick & didn't come to school for a few days. Little did I know, that while I was home sick, the school decided they didn't want the students to come to school dressed up anymore.
So you can imagine, when I went back to school on the day we could dress up......Yep, I was the only punk rocker dressed up at school! Hot pink hair, short dress, wild stockings, Oh yeah....That was a little bit embarrasing!
Now, I shared mine, let's here yours! :)
Your hats are the cutest things I have ever seen!!! I love them.
ReplyDeleteI really don't have a recollection of any Halloween stories. But I do remember all the way through Junior High and High School watching Vincent Price movies at school on Halloween. Probably no one has heard of him, but he made some very creepy, scary movies. I watched a couple of them last year and they are still creepy and scary. Some of them were "The Pit and the Pendulum" and "The House of Usher." I do remember that everyone screamed out loud quite frequently throughout the movie.
I just adore those hats! What a cute and fun project!
ReplyDeleteI don't ever recall an embarrassing halloween story but I do remember making home-made costumes for quite a few years that I was embarrassed about at first but then ended up loving them. There were a lot more homemade costumes when I was a kid and very few store bought but now it seems like all of them are store bought!?! I told my kids that I want them to be creative this year with all the dress up stuff that we have and make silly costumes that way. Should be interesting.... I will let you know how it goes :)
We took my kids out trick or treating around my friends neighborhood. Well this one house goes all out and always has a cool spooky scene in their garage. My oldest went in and was pretty confident that it wouldn't scare him, and actually did pretty good except when as he left, the man, who looked like a statue turned and touched him on the shoulder and said "BOO". Up flew the candy and a screaming, hysterical and crying kid came running to the truck. He refused to go back and get the candy that was now all over the driveway. The best part was before he walked up there like he was a bad dude not going to be scared, he bragged it up to his litter brothers he wasn't afraid and he would show them it was okay to go up there. LOL Well they refused and wouldn't even get out of the truck to go to other places after that! So we ended up going home!
ReplyDeleteOne year my dad dressed up as an old women in a hospital gown with a bare butt showing (sown on). It was funny and embarrassing.

ReplyDeleteSeveral years back I took my girls to have their pictures taken for Halloween. My older daughter was probably 8 or so and she was a witch. My younger daughter was probably 3-4 and she was a clown. For some reason my 3 year old didn't want her picture taken. Although she loved her costume and they both loved halloween. Finally they just started snapping the pictures and my little witch daughter used her magic to make a happy clown cry....that was how we decided we would caption those pictures for the scrapbooks!!
I liked Teresa's comments. I remember those movies too. They would never show those in school now-a-days!! Happy Halloween to everyone!
So those hats are the cutest thing ever. Ok so if I had an embarrassing or funny story I probably suppressed it. But I do remember instead of the typical walking door to door to go trick or treating we used to drive door to door because I lived in a very rural area. In fact we use to be lucky if we got one trick or treater at our house on Halloween. Now I usually run out of candy and have to take out of my kid's bucket. With my three darling kids I am really loving Halloween. It is a fun time of the year!
