Flip Flap Scrapbook Page - A year in review for the Jones'

Every year we try to make a scrapbook page for my parents scrapbook page. I wanted to use a bunch of different pictures & or themes, & didn't want it to look messed up. So I used one of my most favorite items for scrapbooking! Close To My Heart's Flip Flaps! So on the cover I showed the kid's updated school pictures & just put their ages & what grades, inside our Family pictures that we finally had done last summer, & on the back I wanted to put the pictures of my Elk hunt that meant a lot to me because I got to share it with my parents. So I had pretty much 3 different themes on one page! I absolutely LOVE flip flaps! There is so much you can do with them! I still need to embellish them, but I love how they turned out so far!

He will be eight, so I thought it would be fun to make a card that shows off the numbers & calendar of his birthday. I rarely post much of my personal life here on my Kreatively Spoiled blog, but I just wanted to share with you guys what I have been up to the last while & why I haven't been getting any fun crafty things going! I have been putting in for Utah's Limited Entry Elk hunt now for 14 years.

I finally drew my tag this year for Fishlake. On the 2nd day of the hunt, I was lucky to find this beautiful bull elk! He scored 393 7/8! He is truly a trophy to me, no matter what his size is. I had a great time, although pretty stressed out the whole time, but had fun with my boys being in camp with us. My hubby was a great guide, & help & glad I had my Mom, & Dad, My sister Lynette, her husband Jerry, & their youngest son Darron, & a good family friend Paul there to help me out with everything! We have enough meat to feed my growing boys this winter, & we have already had 2 dinners from him, & he actually tastes pretty good, hardly tastes wild at all! This was something I have looked forward to in a long, long time, & I am happy to say, I accomplished my goal of getting a huge elk & had a great time too!

Baseball Coach's Thank You Cards

Hunter's Orioles Team Hat & Thank You Card

Chase's Mariner's hat & Thank You Card

You can see the detail on this last picture of how much paper piecing the Mariners logo was. Those of you who use the Cricut know all about how the edges always look rough, but nothing I could do about that, but still worked out.

I like to make my kid's baseball Coaches Thank You cards at the end of the baseball season. Just thank them for taking the time to do what they do for the boys & their teams. I was playing around with my Silhouette & seen they had a card template in the shape of a hat, so of course that got me to thinking what a great idea that would be for the coaches. Then I thought how much better they would be if I could find the name or logo of their teams & put that on their hat card. So I googled their team names & added the SVG to it, & believe it or not, I found them! I still haven't had a chance to figure out how to cut non Silhouette on my Silhouette yet, but I was able to cut out the Orioles, & Mariner's logo out with my Cricut! (Have I told you how much I LOVE my Silhouette & Cricut machines?) Anyway, here they are after many, many tries of getting them the right size, colors, & everything else! The Orioles was easy, but the Mariner's logo, was piece by piece, but sure worth it when they were all done & finished! Sure hope the Coaches like them, but I do know some of the coaches wives loved them!

June's Stamp Of The Month - Jubilation

This stamp set is one of those great ones you can use for just about anything & anytime!

I was trying to come up with something quick for my 10-4-10 club using the SOTM, & of course I was waiting till the last minute, so I needed to make something up quickly, & remembered this little gift card holder! This stamp set is perfect for this! You can make a ton of these gift card holders with the stamps for any season, or occasion! This one I figured was perfect for this month - Fathers Day! I have always considered my Dad, My Hero, & so when I seen this stamp, I had to make this thinking of my Dad!

375 of these cut from my Cricut machine. Then scored by hand

Bottom scored & folded, & glued at sides to make nifty little pockets to hold the ceremony cards & such.

One of my kid's favorite Teacher, & her daughter hired me to make their unique wedding envelope. She had seen an invitation similar to this, but the company wanted over $700 to make 350 of them. So she called me up & asked me what I could do. Her daughter had made up one how she wanted it done, so I sat down on my computer & made up a template to cut with my Cricut. There was NO way I was going to cut all those out by hand, LOL! Anyway, here is the end result. She is going to do the old fashioned wax seal, to seal the envelope shut. I can't wait to see how that turns out!

It's amazing what you can do with your Cricut & Silhouette machines, when you have time to play with them!

Hope For Japan Total of Donations...

In April, Close To My Heart did a campaign to help Japan. They offered a stamp set called "Hope for Japan" retailing at $7.95, but you could pick it up for only $5! 100% of the proceeds went to the American Red Cross to help those who are suffering in Japan.

The total came to $80K in Donations!

So Thanks to those of you & many more for those great efforts, so that Close To My Heart was able to donate more than $80,000 to the Red Cross fund for Japan!

This year I made Hunter & Chase's Teachers these fun Teacher Appreciation gifts. I love these little mini backpacks, they are so fun to make. Matching cards, & I made these little School Themed bracelets with fun charms. Just wrapped the bracelets up in red tissue paper & placed them inside the mini backpacks. Sure hope their teachers like them, I had fun making them!

Help with the Silhouette...

So I have been researching the Silhouette, vs the Cricut, & I have been hearing some real good information about the Silhouette. I have 2 Cricut machines, love them, but like the idea about the Silhouette & all the junk on my computer I have accumulated over the years, & think how nice it would be to use it with a Silhouette too. So I ordered one last night from OhMyCrafts.com (got a great deal on it with 10% off) my dear hubby, said go ahead, It's your Mother's Day gift! So what can a gal say to that, I ordered it so quickly, he didn't have time to change his mind! Anyway, I would LOVE to have more information on it, so those of you who have one, please let me know what you think about yours, the pros & cons & all that! I would appreciate any information you have, tips & ideas, & fun sites you can use with the Silhouette. One of my favorite sites I have used for years is letteringdelights.com, & they also have fun stuff to use for your Silhouette. Thanks for your help!

Workshop Full of Fun - Sophia Scrapbook Layout

This little tag with the Flowers on top, is actually a hidden journal tag! You just pull up & there is your story! I left the Title open so that you can add whatever title you need for this layout. Perfect for Spring, Mothers Day, Easter, & whatever you prefer!

You have been asking, & asking for some affordable workshops, so I finally got a little bit of time & made up this fun 2 page layout using Sophia B&T papers, & coordinating Cardstock. It is a very simple layout & I used a template out of the all new Magic Scrapbook program from Close To My Heart. One approved from CTMH, that you will be able to get the copy of the instructions when you come to the workshop!

The flowers I cut out with my Cricut, but everything else is Close To My Heart.

New Workshop Full of Fun project - The Chore Cube

They can even roll it & get a chance to take a break with you for a moment to either read to you, or you read them a book!

This side opens up to laminated doors to write your own rewards, or kid's goals to their rewards.

I don't know about you guys, but I have tried plenty of job charts & such to get my 4 boys to help around the house. Each one works for awhile, but then they get bored. So I was playing around with Close To My Heart's My Creations Cube, & thought, what will they do if I combined a whole bunch of different "clean up themes" instead of just one. So I made up this Chore Cube. Now they have multiple options all in a "game cube"! They roll the cube, & whichever the side it lands on, is the side they get to do. Some of the options are to certain jobs listed by numbers 1-6, & when this happens they roll the cube again & it is a dice cube too! Some of the chores listed have a reward, & some of them the kids will actually get to choose a reward. My boys are excited to use it & I love their enthusiasm, maybe this one will work out!

So I figured that, why not make it a workshop too, so if your interested in something different for your kids to try out, then here's your chance!

Lucky Item #1 - The Sponge Z697 $1.25. One of my most used items in my craft room! I cut it into about 8 pieces, & then I can sponge away on my papercraft projects! Love this tool, & I don't know what I would do without it! And how can you complain about that price!

Lucky Item #2 - Glitz Glitter Gel Z1313 $2.75. I LOVE this Gel! I love the look of the prisma glitter, but absolutely hate working with it. I end up wearing it, all over, which just doesn't work with me, since I live in a house full of boys & glitter doesn't blend in here! When they came out with this, I was so happy! To finally have something easy to use & not messy!

Lucky Item #3 - Rub & Remove Eraser Z1207 $2.95. Have you ever glued in the wrong place, or accidentally dropped your glued paper on your project & then had that mess to deal with? This little eraser is such a wonderful tool! No more obvious mistakes from the glue, just let the glue dry, & rub away with this eraser & your project looks like it was suppose to before the big oops!

Lucky Item #4 - Sanding Kit Z1294 $3.50. I love Close To My Heart's cardstock just for the white core alone! I love to sand it & create a whole new look to my projects. This little sanding kit comes with everything you need from a fine, to rough grit, & who would have thought to make it look so pretty! Lucky Item #5 - Spray Pen Z1380 $3.95. These all new Spray Pens are the best! Once you get used to using them, it is amazing what you can create with these! I love the many different techniques you can do with these, & the best part is the kit comes with 3 all for just $3.95!

This fun new project for my Workshop Full of Fun, will be available starting next month. I still haven't figured the price of the workshop yet, but I figure it would be fun for you to pick up your style of B&T papers, embellishments & so forth, so when I figure the price of the workshop out I will post here. More information on it at my upcoming Open House on Tuesday, January 25th 2011 from 1-7 PM.

So I have been making these like crazy.....Can you say addicted? I love making these! Who would have thought! I am just trying to make a bunch to have ready for my Open House coming on the 25th of January with my Close To My Heart product. I started making these ones up on Saturday, & I have already sold 12 of them, so if you like any of these & wanted one, just check with me to make sure what I still have. I am going to make up some of the ones I sold, just so I have them again for at my Open House.

And yes, I will be posting some more papercrafts on this blog here soon, just be patient, I am practically sleeping in my Craft room lately with all the projects going!

A Friend of ours was surprised for his 50th birthday with a Luau party. I wanted to make something to go along with the theme. It was nice to break away from all the Christmas stuff & have fun with my Extreme Happiness stamp set from Close To My Heart, my Cricut, & a handful of coordinating papers. I love this stamp set!
